CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS
CEC is one of the three programs managed under the Federal Express Entry System and is considered the best option for those who have gained work experience in Canada and want permanent immigration. The program offers the fastest processing among all the Express Entry programs, taking only three to four months to get processed.
Canada Experience Class program recognizes the benefits to Canada by candidates who have spent significant amounts of time pursuing their studies and working careers in Canada. It recognizes their contributions to the Canadian economy and the creation of strong links to Canadian society. This strengthens the permanent residence programs to Canada.
ELIGIBLITY
Who is Eligible for CEC?
To be eligible for CEC an individual must have at least 12 months of full-time experience (Or equivalent part-time experience) of skilled work in Canada, obtained in the previous 36 months from the date of application.

The applicant can remain in Canada at the time of application. CEC is also open to all those candidates who no longer live in Canada. However, in such a case the applicant must submit the application within 36 months after leaving Canada.

You will not be eligible for the Canadian experience class if you are either a refugee claimant or you’re working without proper authorisation.

Note: Here, 12 months or One year’s experience means having at least 1560 hours of skilled work experience in Canada. It can be obtained through both Full-time and/or Part-time work.

REQUIREMENT
Requirements for CEC
The Candidate must Meet or score above a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of:
NOC skills
- 5 (“initial intermediate”) for NOC B jobs
- 7 (“adequate intermediate proficiency”) for NOC skill level 0 or A jobs..
Candidate must also submit his/her plan for living and working outside of Quebec (individuals with work experience in Quebec and who plan to reside in Quebec may apply to the Quebec Experience Class
CEC WORK
How does CEC work?
The first thing you need to do is make sure you meet the above-mentioned requirements for the CEC. If yes, you fill out an Express Entry profile on the IRCC website.
IRCC holds an Express Entry draw in which candidates with the highest CRS scores are invited to apply for permanent residence. CRS scores are based on each candidate’s human capital, which includes their age, education, language skills, work experience, and Canadian experience, among other things.
If you get an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence, you must send IRCC a complete application by the due date.
